About

I grew up in the dirt here.

I'm a fifth-generation Hamakua farmer. I came up in my family's tropical foliage business, which is where I learned what makes one piece of land worth more than the one next to it. Soil depth. Where the water comes from. Whether a truck can get in during the rain. What the county will actually let you build.

Since 2021 I've closed over $81 million in Big Island real estate, most of it land and agricultural property on the east side. I'm an eXp ICON Agent and was named one of eXp Realty Hawaii Island's 2026 Top Performers.

What I do

Four things, done properly.

01

Land and agricultural property

Vacant land is what I sell most, and it's the hardest thing on this island to price. Soil, water, elevation, road access, lava zone, and county zoning move the number more than square footage ever will. I read all of it before I quote you a price.

02

Development and entitlement

I'm running a ten-lot subdivision on Chin Chuck Road right now, from survey through county approval to closing. Subdivision feasibility, right-of-way purchases, and Planning Department timelines are a file on my desk, not a class I took.

03

Agricultural financing

Most buyers learn how hard vacant land is to finance after they're already in contract. I work with several agricultural lenders beyond American AgCredit who write 30-year fixed loans against ag-zoned property, usually at 30 to 40 percent down. Have that conversation before you write the offer.

04

Investment and vacation rental

I own and operate short-term rentals on both sides of the island through DJS Real Estate Management. If you're buying for income, I can tell you what a property actually nets after cleaning, channel fees, GET and TAT, rather than what a gross revenue projection says.
