Dylan Shropshire is a fifth-generation farmer that was raised on the Hamakua Coast of Hawaii’s Big Island where he currently lives. Dylan grew up in the dirt learning how to cultivate a very diverse selection of crops with a primary focus on the family tropical foliage business. Prior to starting his family and career and after graduating from the Hawaii Preparatory Academy, Dylan pursued an education in International Business and Finance. He earned his Bachelor's degree at Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

 

Dylan is a successful serial entrepreneur and is always looking to expand his network and gain more knowledge in his industries. He is a highly accomplished real estate professional specializing in agricultural properties with over 39 million in volume (01/2021 - 06-2023) ranking 1st on the entire East Side of the Big Island in total land sales. Dylan became a restaurateur with the opening of his family run vegetarian Vibe Café which consistently wins first place in the Best of East Hawaii. Dylan permeated the exclusive Cannabis industry of Hawaii with his founding of Big Island Grown, one of the eight winning applications for a vertical medical Cannabis dispensary license. Big Island Grown has quickly become one of the largest private employers in East Hawaii and the top cannabis brand in the State. Dylan created history by founding a company that would open up the first dispensary on the Big Island; which is one of the only medical cannabis dispensaries in the world located on an active volcano. Big Island Grown operates vertically with a state of art 35,000 square foot cultivation, manufacturing, and extraction operation and three active dispensary locations surrounding the Big Island in Kona, Hilo and Waimea. Dylan’s passion and involvement in cannabis from a young age came full circle in 2019 when Big Island Grown was featured in the October issue of High Times magazine! Another huge personal accomplishment was being featured in the prestigious Forbes magazine for the company’s cutting edge sustainability practices in the cannabis industry.

 

Outside of his professional accolades, Dylan loves to spend time with his wife and three young daughters on their USDA certified organic farm aka Vibe Farms. He cherishes his home in paradise, always adventuring with his family and friends. Dylan spends his free time hiking, hunting new waterfalls, practicing ocean therapy, farming tropical fruits, researching alternative plant medicine and spinning electronic music.
