About Me
Dylan Shropshire, a fifth-generation farmer, was raised on the Hamakua Coast of Hawaii’s Big Island, where he continues to live and work. Growing up immersed in his family's tropical foliage business, Dylan developed extensive agricultural expertise. After graduating from Hawaii Preparatory Academy, he pursued a Bachelor's degree in International Business and Finance from Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
As a successful serial entrepreneur, Dylan has made significant strides in various industries. He is a leading real estate professional specializing in agricultural properties, achieving over $39 million in sales volume from January 2021 to June 2023, and ranking first in total land sales on the East Side of the Big Island. Beyond sales, Dylan has been deeply involved in numerous real estate developments on the Big Island, managing projects from entitlement to construction.
Dylan is also the Co-Founder of Big Island Grown (BIG), one of the eight winning applications for a vertical medical Cannabis dispensary license. Big Island Grown has quickly become one of the largest private employers in East Hawaii and the top cannabis brand in the State. BIG created history by founding a company that would open up the first dispensary on the Big Island; which is one of the only medical cannabis dispensaries in the world located on an active volcano. BIG operates vertically with a state of art 35,000 square foot cultivation, manufacturing, and extraction operation and three active dispensary locations surrounding the Big Island in Kona, Hilo and Waimea. Dylan’s passion and involvement in cannabis from a young age came full circle in 2019 when BIG was featured in the October issue of High Times magazine! Another huge personal accomplishment was being featured in the prestigious Forbes magazine for the company’s cutting edge sustainability practices in the cannabis industry.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dylan loves to spend time with his wife and three young daughters on their organic farm. Dylan spends his free time hiking, hunting new waterfalls, practicing ocean therapy, farming tropical fruits, researching alternative plant medicine and making music.
